meet JEN baker: she keeps us all on our a-game, and makes us all look like heroes.
What do you do at GDS?
A little bit of everything. That's what I love about working here. I work on everything from logo design, stationery design, web sites and print ads. I'm also responsible for coordinating and managing the creative people here, as well as design and project management.
What's your background? How did you get into this racket?
I have always had an interest in art, specifically drawing. It wasn't until college that I started to incorporate computers into my creativity. I attended RIT and received a BFA in Graphic Design. After graduating I relocated to NJ and began my career at GDS. I haven't been able to find any better jobs, so I've stayed since then (I'm kidding, of course!).
What are your favorite portfolio pieces?
My favorite portfolio piece so far is A. Bonadio & Sons. They are a Massachusetts-based landscape contractor that came to us to get a new brand identity for the business, including; logo design, pocket folders, stationery pieces and web site. I designed their stationery and pocket folder, and worked with Sarah on the web site design. Their whole package is very impressive.
What do you do when you're not at work?
When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my husband dreaming up our next big home renovation plans. I also like to ski, cook, and I’m working on my golf game.
