Over the years we have been blessed to watch our company grow from a one-man operation to a full-fledged studio with a team of talented employees and increasingly loyal customers. Like all successes, we have seen bumps in the road and faced the usual challenges of business. Ultimately however, it has been a great journey - one whose ultimate destination has relied heavily on our client's contributions and referrals. These are things we do not take for granted.
Because we are so grateful for the goals we have been able to reach, we have initiated our "pay it forward" program where we dedicate time toward doing full pro-bono or reduced rate work for some very deserving organizations. Our first full pro-bono project concluded last year with The Luca John Foundation. These hard working people have had the almost insurmountable task of raising awareness about a little-known disease. We were able to donate a logo, a web site, business cards and some marketing advice to get them pointed in the right direction.
Last summer, when one of our clients suffered the unimaginable loss of their teenage son in a hiking accident while on their family vacation, we wanted to help out any way we could. Their family established a foundation in their son's honor - The Andrew Hicks Jr. Foundation. We are so happy to be able to donate the logo design, stationery and web site for this worthy foundation, which carries on the values held by their son.
In September, 2012, GDS heard about the Magic Hour Foundation, which provides portrait photography sessions for cancer patients and survivors. With many of us having been personally affected by cancer, we decided this would be a great cause to get involved with. So GDS was able to donate the brand development for this worthy organization.
While we are not able to help everyone, we'd love to hear from you about people who most need our expertise, and whose organizations are engaged in worthy causes. Drop us a line and let us know who you think would be a well-deserving recipient. Email Dan with your suggestions.
